QuickBooks Payment Snapshot
QuickBooks offers multiple methods to accomplish several tasks. Following is a useful tool for processing and tracking obligations.
Whether you are a sole proprietor or a bigger firm who has one team member dedicated to dealing with accounts receivable, there is a great deal of screen-switching and repetitive work involved.
You will automatically go to Customers | Receive payments, which works fine. You may even run a small number of accounts by a tab on that display.
This is the display you likely use most frequently when recording obligations.
However, what about your regular earnings and A/R reports? Imagine if you need to produce a sales receipt or issue a refund? You are going to need to keep going back to the Customers menu or home page to start those displays.
Customer Snapshot and click on the Upgrades tab. This customizable display consists of several basic components, arranged in 3 columns for Simple viewing:
Jump to displays which enable you to receive a payment, make a sales receipt or issue credits and credits.
A chart displaying Invoice Payment Status and A/R from Aging Period for different financial periods
A link to outline and detail views of many Receivables Reports
Two of those sections onto the Payment Snapshot display.
Like the majority of other displays in QuickBooks, the Payment Snapshot is customizable. To modify its own content, click on the Add Content link in the top left corner. Under Insert content to your own Payment Snapshot, you will see miniature models of every possible component on the Payment Snapshot webpage (scroll sideways using the green arrows to view all of these). Click on the + Add button next to each graph, list or set of links to display it to the Payment Snapshot page. To view a bigger version, click Display Preview. If a particular component is currently showing on the webpage, the + Add button will be replaced by means of a checkmark with Additional next to it. To eliminate one, simply click on the X in the top right corner of the section. Click on the down arrow to store or print, Restore Default to go back to the original display, and Done when you have finished modifying.
