Method 1: Switch from Multi-user to Single user mode

  • Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Click on File.
  • Click on Switch to Single-user mode.

Method 2: Check the Mapped File Location

  • Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Press Ctrl + 1.
  • A Product Information window will be displayed.
  • Locate the map path and note it down.
  • Click on Help.
  • Select Update QuickBooks.
  • Move to the Options button.
  • Verify the download location. This should be similar to the map path in the Product Information.
    a. If Shared Download is Yes, select No on the next screen.
    b. If Shared Download is No, select Yes on the next screen. 
  • Tap on the Save button.
  • Relaunch your computer.
  • Download the latest Payroll Tax Table.

Method 3: Remap the Drive to a new letter 

  • Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Remap your Network Drive to a new letter drive.
  • Open your company file in the new location.
  • Click on Help.
  • Select Update QuickBooks.
  • Hit Options.
  • Disable and Enable Shared Download.
  • Check if the download is processing in the new drive.
  • Click on Save and Close.
  • Restart your device.
  • Download the latest Payroll Tax Table.

Method 4: Run QuickBooks as Admin

  • Navigate to the QuickBooks Desktop icon.
  • Right-click on the icon.
  • Select Run as Administrator.
  • A permission box will be displayed.
  • Click on Yes.
  • Reboot your system.
  • Update QuickBooks Desktop.
