Puja Samagri For Diwali Puja 2018

Diwali has always been known as the festival of lights since ages. Tracing the origin of this festival from the Ramayana times, this festival marked the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya with His divine consort wife Sita and brother Lakshmana after defeating Ravana and installing Vibhishana as the new Lankan King. People all over India celebrate this festival with much passion. Deepavali Week 2018 celebration starts with Dhanteras on November 5 (Monday) and Diwali on November 7  (Wednesday).


Any festival of Indian is incomplete with worships of gods. And the predominating deity or worshipped during Diwali is Lakshmi. Lakshmi is a symbol of abundance, wellness and prosperity. She is associated with wealth and fortune. As per the Puranic story mentioned in the Bhagavat Purana She emerged during the Sagar Manthan (churning of the oceans). In the Vedic scriptures, She is worshipped for blessing fortune, purity, beauty, power, generosity, auspiciousness, grace, grandeur, bliss and riches. People perform Diwali puja as per muhurata (auspicious or favourable time). The Pradosh Kaal muhurat is the most auspicious time for Lakshmi pujan.

Puja Samagri for Lakshmi Puja 2018:


Puja Samagri plays an essential role in the performance of a ritual, yagya or havan. Today you get the pooja essentials and samagri list from various suppliers and online stores at best price. They offer all the puja items such Bel Patra, Bel fruit, Supari, ghee, honey, rice, turmeric powder,  holy waters from holy rivers of India and more.


For Lakshmi Puja on Diwali, there are ingredients and items as instructed in the scriptures. Lakshmi Puja during Diwali is performed for wealth, abundance, riches and prosperity in one’s profession. Also it brings auspiciousness, harmony and happy family life.

Following items are required for Lakshmi Puja:

Incense sticks, Coconut, Ghee lamp, Haldi and Kumkum, Dhoop cones, Pack of Betal nut, clove and cardamom, Puja coin, rice, five dry fruits, Mouli, Dates, almond, Anjir and raw turmeric, Earthen oil lamp with cotton wicks, Navdhanya (9 grains), Yellow Cowrie, Sriphal, Gomati chakra, Camphor, Honey, Rose water, Attar and Gangajal.


Ideally a Lakshmi Puja includes Kalash and Panchang Sthapana, 64 yogini Pujan, Shetrapal Pujan, Ganesh Pujan and Abhishek. It also includes the worship of Nine Planets as Navgraha Pujan with 108 chants of each planet mantra. Also the primary gods such as Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva) are invoked with other gods and goddesses. The main part of the puja features Lakshmi Idol Abhishek and Pujan, Recitation of Lakshmi Suktam, Lakshmi Stotram Mantra and Recitation of Kanakdhara Strotra, Lakshmi Mantra Japa, Laxmi Homa, Aarti and Pushpaanjali.
