Prophet Walter Magaya’s Sermon – “We Are Vessels in the Potter’s Hands”

Prophet Walter Magaya is one of the most celebrated in Zimbabwe and Africa in general. (2) “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message. (3). So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. (4) But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him. (5) Then the word of the Lord came to me. (6) He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.

Isaiah.64:8

8 Yet you, Lord, are our Father.

We are the clay, you are the potter;

We are all the work of your hand.

Prophet Magaya said, “We are clay in the hands of God. The first thing that is in the mind of the potter is the conclusion. The potter declares the end then he begins. He needs to gather the amount of clay he requires to complete what he wants to make. Jehovah is the potter and before He even placed you in your mother’s womb He had a purpose. He knew your conclusion. You were created at the correct time and for the correct purpose. Before the potter picks clay from the anthill, he already has a picture of what he wants to make. There is a reason why you are where you are and in the environment, you are in. You might not know the reason why but your end is perfect. God knows our perfect end.”

“When the potter goes out, he carries a vessel to put clay it into and picks a few among much. He will be separating the few from many. God separated you from the world and it is your time. God chose you today because it is your time. It is your time to shine and rise. You are not ordinary clay anymore. God is ready to begin something new in you. When God looks at you He sees your conclusion before clay is placed on the wheel. He places the clay, splashes it, and starts a painful process, which is removing the unwanted substances. He removes all impurities and God does the same with us. Most people do not want this stage but if the potter is to continue, it has to be done. You must allow God to remove these impurities such as the laziness in us.

It is something that must be removed in order for your end to be perfect. For some if gossip is among other things in order for one to receive help they need to acknowledge that they need it first before they can receive it. You need to write down the things you want God to remove from you. Pray against those things and ask the Lord to see you through. As you pray God will remove that character you do not want in your life. Anything, which is not from God, shall be removed from you. The next steps after impurities are removed, as the potter removes air. He takes the clay and slams it down hard rolling it. You cannot make a perfect vessel if there is air inside the clay. You need to be delivered of all contrary spirits before you can testify. If that process is not done then it will be a waste of time, as the pot will crack.”
