Primal v/s Paleo – Which One to Choose
People hate switching to primal eating plans because they are used to munch on processed foods which tastes great and it is titillating to have more and more of it. Many can’t believe that the diet of a caveman can be so sacred to our body which helps to lead a better and healthy life.
Not only you have to eat healthily, instead, but you also have to take care that the foods consumed by you are fresh and organic, whether they are fruits, veggies, meat, fish or dairy products. The foods grown by adding chemicals and pesticides are not healthy to feed on if you are following the paleo primal diet. Your gut will remain clean and healthy only if you use organic food.
Primal v/s Paleo
There are minimal differences in primal and paleo diets. Both beliefs in the same principle of adopting the food habits of the people of the Stone Age when there was no fire nor agriculture farming was known to them. Both lived on the direct resources of nature and remained fit and healthy. Lifestyle diseases and other deadly diseases such as cancer did not exist.
Both Advocate Dairy Products
There was a misconception about primal eating plan and paleo primal diet that primal believes in dairy products whereas paleo not. But once you read the book of both the authors, you will find that both advocate dairy products but they insist on being non-pasteurized. Raw and fermented is best for use and highly nutritious.
Both Limit Carbohydrates
Both paleo and primal insists on savoring foods that were common in use before agricultural farming came into being. We need to eat what our ancestors lived on. They focus on healthy fats, a high protein diet adopted from veggies, fruits, and meat. Consuming carbs invites lifestyle diseases and induces us to be lethargic. Initially, they had divided opinion on the carbs, but later on, both advocate the same, limited carbs in our diet.
Coffee
Primal supports coffee intake, whereas paleo contradicts the usage of coffee.
Legumes
Primal supports the inclusion of legumes in our diet while the paleo diet is not in favor.
Rigidity
The primal eating plan is flexible compared to the paleo diet plan and they believe in a holistic approach of life which includes not only diet practice but also to come out of mood swings and enjoy life as it is without brooding over that cannot be mended.
Now, it’s up to you, what you choose for yourself – Primal or Paleo. Both are nearly the same and still, the research is on to prove its authenticity in the medical field, yet, many have benefitted from them.
