Union Public Service Commission conducts Indian Administrative Services (IAS), every year. IAS officers holds a reputed and key position in Union Government, State Government and Public Sector Undertaking as well. A candidate who is once selected for the Civil Services will become ineligible to appear again in the exam. Along with Indian Police and Forest Services, IAS is one of the three All India Services. As the position is quite respectful and reputed, therefore the number of candidates applying for this exam is quite high. To delimit the candidates appeared for the exam, UPSC decided a Civil Service IAS Cutoff benchmark. This benchmark is basically set to select the best and deserving candidates for the further rounds. As the post is quite sensitive and full of responsibilities therefore the selection process has to be quite rigorous and extreme so that only well qualified and deserved candidates get recruited. Candidates will have to prepare quite well to crack the written exam and proceed to other further rounds.

Civil Service IAS Cutoff Stages:

Basically Civil Service IAS Cutoff marks are applicable at three stages. First it is applied to prelim exam, then to main exam and then finally for the personal interview round. Candidates will have to score marks as per the cutoff criteria in all the rounds so as to qualify for next rounds. If in case marks scored by candidates are just equal to cutoff marks, then candidate will be considered qualified in that case as well.

Significance Of Civil Service IAS Cutoff

Till now it is clear that Civil Service IAS 2016 Cutoff is quite an important part of the exam. Candidates those who succeed in scoring marks as per the cutoff criteria will only be considered eligible. All the other candidates will be disqualified from the selection rounds. Higher the difference in cutoff marks and candidate's marks, more is their chances of selection. Candidates must notice that scoring good marks in only one section will not help them to go through all the selection rounds. Candidates will have to perform well in all the rounds till they are selected finally.
