Precautions To Follow Post A Breast Augmentation Surgery

by Ankita Sehgal Freelance Blogger, Lives in New Delhi
A breast augmentation surgery is your key to fuller and more beautiful looking breasts and yes a lot of confidence.  However, like any other surgery breast augmentation surgery also requires time for recovery. This is the time during which your body heals and helps your implants take the appropriate shape and position. The recovery period is a delicate time and your body and breasts are very fragile. It is important that a lot of care is taken. We have compiled a list of the do's and don'ts that you should follow after your surgery. Follow these guidelines for a speedy recovery.

Do's

  • Drink and eat anything you want to.
  • Refrain the intake of alcohol in any form till your medications gotten over and your doctor has given you a green signal.
  • You can sleep on your back.
  • Continue your desk job which doesn't involve a lot of movement
  • You can lift up your arm to the level of your shoulder
  • Lift weights or articles that are not heavier than 2.5 kgs

DON’T’S

  • Sleeping on your stomach or sides is a complete no-no for at least 6 weeks.
  • Running, jumping, or taking part in any other physical activity that is strenuous is also off the table. Any such activity can cause your wounds to open and shift your implants.
  • Trying to have a look at your scars by pulling up your breasts is absolutely forbidden. The same is for lifting your arms too much. These otherwise harmless sounding activities can cause your wounds to open up.
  • Also, as mentioned in the do's section, do not lift your arms above the level of the shoulders. This can worsen your armpit wound.
  • Do not take a shower for at least 2 weeks after your surgery. You can take a bath of course. Also, ensure that your wounds have dried up completely. To be doubly sure you can use a hair dryer at a low setting.
  • Another thing you should be precautionary about is not getting your wounds wet for at least 2-5 days post your surgery. The way out is to ensure that your doctors have applied and sealed your wounds with waterproof bandages.
  • Do not take off your surgical bra and compression bands before consulting your doctor at the Breast Clinic In Bangalore
  • Bra support is extremely crucial to your breasts after your breast enhancement surgery. Thus do not forget to wear an underwire bra for at least 6 weeks post your surgery. The time written is 6 weeks because that’s the least amount of time your wounds will take to heal. Additionally, your breasts will settle in that time in the right position and would have taken their shape.

Breast Surgery in India is absolutely safe and secure. All you need to do is follow the precautions well.
