Visit the historical city of Champaner

Champaner is Heritage Site as designated by UNESCO in the year 2004 and its location is 47 km from Baroda. Vanraj Chavda from Chavda Dynasty built the foundation of the city in 8th century naming this after his general and bosom friend Champa. Today an archaeological park is present here and is a popular destination for tourists staying at hotels near Vadodara airport. The site has bastions and forts starting from Pavagadh Hill extending to Champaner. The landscape of the park includes historic and archaeological heritage monuments like hill fortress and chalcolithic sites.
