Pillow Talk: Finding the Right Pillow for Different Sleep Positions
by Halcyon Dreams Australian Wool Quilts OnlineGot time for some pillow talk? Choosing a pillow
shouldn’t be as simple as “oh that feels nice”. That’s right; there are lots of
factors to consider when choosing a pillow, with the most important being the
position that you like to fall asleep in. Are you a side sleeper, a stomach
sleeper or a back sleeper? Let’s talk about what pillow you need to choose
based on your favourite sleeping position;
Back Sleeper - You fall into bed, lay on your back and
pull a King Size
Quilt over your body with the intention of falling into a
deep sleep. You do this on repeat every night. Sound familiar? You’re
definitely a back sleeper. Look for Aussie wool pillows with a loft (height)
that is not too high nor too low. It’s best to choose a pillow that’s not too
soft and not too firm too if you like to sleep on your back.
Side Sleeper - Hello side sleepers! You should be
looking for a pillow with medium to firm support for ultimate comfort. When
used a couple of times, the wool in our pillows settles and flattens and
provides the level of support you’ll need. That said; if you like a very firm
surface, you could use our pillow as a support to another firmer one.
Stomach Sleepers - Stomach sleepers have lots of
things to look out for when choosing a pillow that will keep their heads and
bodies at a safe and comfortable angle. It’s best to choose soft materials like
wool as other materials like latex and buckwheat can be extremely firm and
uncomfortable for this sleeping position. Our pillows are ideal for people who
like a single, soft, lowline pillow to sleep on so take some time to check out
our reviews and the video we have made about our pillows.
And there you have it - it’s all about materials and firmness when choosing the right pillow based on your preferred sleeping position. After all, there’s no point having the best quality King Size Quilt, and a woollen underlay if you can’t drift off to the land of nod in comfort because your pillow is at the incorrect height for your body angle.
