The price cut made diesel cheaper than petrol in the city after more than a month. Diesel is cheaper than petrol in Delhi by the widest margin among all metros now.

In Kolkata, petrol price remained unchanged at Rs 82.10 per litre, while diesel price cross Rs 76 mark and was retailing at Rs 76.05 per litre as against Rs 75.89 on Saturday. In economic capital Mumbai, a litre of petrol was still priced at Rs Rs 87.19, while a litre of diesel became costlier and was selling at Rs 79.17 as against Rs 79.05 yesterday. Petrol Price News in Noida remained unchanged at Rs 81.08 per litre. Diesel rate, on the other hand, went up by 11 paise and it was retailing at 72.91 per litre as against and Rs 72.80 per litre on Saturday.

In Chennai, the petrol price remained unchanged at Rs 83.63, while diesel became slightly expensive as the rate was hiked to Rs 78.01 per litre from yesterday's rate of Rs 77.91 per litre. Unlike Delhi, the prices of petrol continued to be much higher than diesel in other metro cities like Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. In Gurugram, petrol price remained unchanged at Rs 78.64, while diesel price went up 11 paise and it was retailing at Rs 73.09 per litre.

While the Petrol Price News has been left unchanged for about a fortnight, diesel touched new highs today in Delhi after another rate hike. Diesel price went up by 11 paise a litre today while petrol price remained the same.

While diesel price was last revised on July 7, petrol rates were last changed on June 29. In the last five weeks, diesel price has increased on 24 occasions while petrol rates have risen 21 times.
