Personalized Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day

by Kevin Smith Author

Your mom is unique. You want to show how much you appreciate her for just being herself. Here are ways to add a personal touch to your gifts this year.

Monogram

The first way you can add a personal touch to your gifts for Mother’s Day is by finding gifts that can be emblazoned with her initials. Nothing says it’s definitely for her than her own letters placed stylishly across it. Monograms can be contemporary, minimalist, or decorative. They can be placed on anything from shoes, to water bottles, to backpacks and clothing.

For a mom on the go, a phone case, thermos, tote bag, or sunglasses with her initials on them can be great gift ideas. For the woman who likes to stay in and chill, you can find monogrammed blankets, book covers, coffee mugs, and throw pillows. Why not make her a coordinated gift basket with a few monogrammed items that you know she’ll enjoy.

Custom Order

Does your mom have a unique interest or hobby? Are you struggling to find the perfect gift? If you answered yes to either one of those questions, you should look into having a custom order made just for her.

You can find thousands of unique hand-made items on Etsy, and many store owners offer the option to create a custom order. You can also work with a local seamstress to have unique embroidery machine designs placed on fabric items like aprons, towels, t-shirts, and more. Keep in mind that most custom orders will require some build time, so don’t save these purchases to the last minute.

DIY

Finally, there is no better way to add a personal touch to your gifts than to make them yourself. You can find objects that are mostly constructed and able to be modified to your desire, or start completely from scratch. If you need some inspiration you could attend a local hobby store class, or find tutorial videos on YouTube. You could frame a special picture, paint a piece of clay, string some beads into jewelry, or make a candle scented with her favorite aromas.

Whatever you choose to give your mom this Mother’s Day, she will know that you care. So monogram that pillow, paint that pottery, order an apron with cool embroidery machine designs on it, and show her you appreciate how unique she is.
