People Who Require FSSAI License in India

Food Business Operator (FBO): FSSAI Food License registration are mandatory for every Food Business Operator (FBO) in India. Whether a Food Business Operator (FBO) requires a FSSAI License or registration depends upon the factors like capacity of Food production/ handling etc., nature of food business activities and area of operation. Before applying for FSSAI registration application to the FBO authority must undergo the eligibility search to understand whether it needs registration or license (State License/Central License).

Importer of Food: Every Food business owners who is an importing food has to apply for a central license at their business address. A food business operators carrying on business at different states needs to apply separate food license for each states. Thus each states will be issued a separate food license in India.

Central Food License: If a Food Business Operator in India is operating in more than two states in India, need to obtain central License for the business Registered Office and separate state license for each states in India.
