Pawan Express: Making journeys easier between cities

Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Muzaffarpur Pawan Express is the full name of the express train which is commonly known as the Pawan Express. This express train according to its full name runs through the tracks connecting Lokmanya Tilak Terminus of Mumbai with the Muzaffarpur Junction of Bihar. The regular running of the train is conducted by the Central Railways section of the Indian Railways. This train runs with the number 11061 when it is running in the up direction, which is from Mumbai to Muzaffarpur and when it runs in the down direction, which is from Muzaffarpur to Mumbai; it runs with the number 11602.

One can easily get the Pawan Express running status by logging into the official website provided by the Indian Railways. People can also get the status of the train whether it is running late or not by checking into the digital time table, which is also provided by the Railway Government.

When running from Mumbai to Muzaffarpur Junction, this Pawan express has 35 station stoppages and while running in the opposite direction, which is from Muzaffarpur to Mumbai, this train has only 33 station halts. From Mumbai, this train runs four days a week, which is on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On the other hand, from Muzaffarpur to Mumbai, this train runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.  The main station stoppages that the train has are Bhusawal Junction, Ingatpuri, Jabalpur Junction, Manmad Junction, Satna, Allahabad Junction, Gazipur City and Varanasi Junction. This train covers a distance of around 1790 kilometers when running from Mumbai to Muzaffarpur Junction. To cover the entire distance, it takes a running time of around 35 hours. Pawan express runs with an average speed of around 55 kilometers per hour and thus, it does not belong to the super fast train category.

Cities through tracks

This train has 22 coaches altogether which includes AC 2 tiers, AC 3 tiers, Sleeper Classes, General Unreserved classes and Luggage vans. In addition to this, the train also has a pantry car coach. This means, the passengers of this train can easily order food and drinks from the pantry car when on a run. Among the 22 coaches, that the train has, there is only one AC 2 tier coach, one AC 3 tier coach, 12 sleeper class coaches and 6 general unreserved coaches. The rest are Sitting and Luggage vans.

This train connects Mumbai with Muzaffarpur. One is the state capital of Maharashtra and the other is a busy city in Bihar. This train departs from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus railway station, which is located at the Kurla Suburb of Mumbai. This is the only station located within the city while the others are located at the suburbs. Previously known as Bombay, this city got its name from ‘Mumba Devi’ who is the goddess of patronage for fishermen.

Muzaffarpur is situated on the banks of Burhi Gandak River and is popularly known as the ‘Litchi Kingdom’ as it produces a large number of shahi litchis, which are very tasty.

This train connects these two cities together and is a boon for the people living here.
