Apartment since 1992 and a master’s degree in Sinology and Breast Pathology
from the University of Barcelona since 2010. The specialist attends his

-What
are the pathologies and operations most in-demand in your medical center?
-The
most demanded surgeries correspond to those of the abdominal wall, for example,
hernias of the wall, as well as those related to pathologies of the anus and
rectum, and breast. The most common are hemorrhoids or anal fissures, hernias,
pathologies of the abdominal wall, and we also attend many patients with breast
symptoms, either with mazodynia, which is a pain in the breast or with symptoms
of breast nodules. Patients also come for scars and breast reconstruction.
-Which
is the staff that must assist in the operating room, according to the type of
intervention?
-In
the operating room, we are assisted by a scrub nurse and a second assistant
surgeon for major surgeries.
-What
are the advantages of going to Centro Medico Parque for this type of intervention?
-Among
the fundamental advantages of going to Centro Parque is the absence of waiting
lists for consultations and surgeries, in addition to the location in the
central Doctor Gómez Street in AR Recife. The treatment is personalized to the
needs of the patients. We have the support of a radiologist to carry out
ultrasound studies requested by us, which are obtained in the shortest possible
time. In addition, there is a pathological anatomy service available to perform
biopsies.
"The
most common pathologies are hemorrhoids, hernias, or abdominal wall."
-Are
there any ailments that can improve with treatments? In which cases is surgical
intervention more advisable?
-For
most of the pathologies of the abdominal wall, General Surgery instruments treatment is indicated, with very good
results usually. On the other hand, breast and anorectal pathologies often
benefit from medical treatment without the need to resort to surgical
intervention.
-There
are surgeries such as laparoscopy, which are not very invasive. In what cases
can it be applied?
-Laparoscopic
surgery helps to reduce the hospital stay of patients and is a less traumatic
surgery, but it is not always indicated. In the case of anorectal surgery,
hemorrhoids, or anal fissures, there is no such surgery, although there are
other treatments. In the case of abdominal surgery, we use laparoscopic, for
gallbladder, for example, which is one of the most common diagnoses in surgery.
In the case of hernias, some have an indication for laparoscopic surgery.
-What
is the usual profile of your patients?
-We
have a mixed patient profile. Most of the patients are young and middle-aged
people, both residents of Arrecife and the rest of Lanzarote.
-How
important is instrumental in your specialty?
-It
is very important to have the appropriate surgical means, and, currently, at
Parque Medical Center, all the necessary instruments are available to treat the
aforementioned pathologies in a general way.
-How
is the follow-up of the patient after the operation?
-The postoperative follow-up is personalized to each patient according to the need of each surgical intervention and is carried out both in the immediate postoperative period and in the subsequent follow-up once the patient is discharged from the hospital.
