Pastathon Donations May Be Made At Multiple Locations; Wendy’s & Smart & Final

KFI AM 640 will be holding its 13th Annual PastaThon benefiting Caterina’s Club, a nonprofit that serves some 25,000 meals per week to hungry children at 100 locations in 30 cities throughout Southern California. From Nov 15 - Dec 3, LA’s #1 talk radio station will mount an on-air campaign to increase funding for the organization as well as raise public awareness about childhood hunger right here in Southern California. In addition to funds, the campaign seeks donations of pasta and pasta sauce.

Sponsors Smart & Final and Wendy’s will be involved this year with the former accepting $10 donations (feeds 14) at all of its CA, AZ and NV stores, and the latter collecting cash donations at its drive-thru windows throughout Southern California. Cash donations may be made via credit card or PayPal by visiting pastathon.com; checks made payable to Caterina’s Club can be mailed to 451 W. Lincoln Ave #251, Anaheim, CA 92805.

On “Giving Tuesday” November 28 from 5 am to 10 pm., KFI AM 640 will resume its tradition of hosting an all-day broadcast live from the Anaheim White House Italian Restaurant and Steakhouse and the public are encouraged to drop off their donations and to see their favorite personalities live on-air. Since 2010, KFI listeners have raised $5.7 million and 727,000 pounds of pasta and sauce for Caterina's Club and is the nonprofit’s biggest annual fundraiser.

Caterina’s Club was founded in 2005 by Sir Bruno Serato who named the nonprofit after his beloved mother. In addition to feeding the children, the organization finds permanent homes for families in need and trains at-risk youth for careers in the food and hospitality industries. Serato also is owner of Anaheim White House Italian Steakhouse, a critically acclaimed restaurant whose patrons through the years include U.S. Presidents, royalty, sports stars, and celebrities.
