OverHere Launches on Google Play and App Store Mixing Social Networking, Messaging & Memories

Fremont, CA, USA August 10, 2017 - The California based startup OverHere Labs launches OverHere for Android and iOS. The new social networking app mixes social networking, location based messaging, discovering of information, memory sharing and location based reminders.

OverHere is a new social networking and location based messaging app that blends multiple social networking features into one including location based messaging, information and memory sharing. Users connect, share and communicate based on their actual location.

OverHere users can share/receive information, message, memory or reminders to other users or to themselves and relate it to a certain location. The memory sharing feature is especially pointed out since there aren’t too many apps that appreciate the meaningful moments and places from user’s past events.

“While the concept of location based messaging has been here for a while, OverHere advances with sharing of photos and memories and giving users preferences on what type of information they want to see on OverHere. Memories are often overlooked by technology, and OverHere wants to change that by letting users tie certain location with a special memory”, stated Amit Solanki, founder of OverHere.

OverHere will not only display the public or private data when the user arrives or passes by a certain predefined location but also gives great control to what users see on OverHere. Users can discover interesting public places nearby, but OverHere will display only the places and information that is approved.

“We didn’t want to clutter users with much irrelevant information. Thus when searching for interesting places around their location, OverHere will display only places of interest. This gives additional personalization and customization that was maybe lacking in the location based messaging platforms”, added Mr. Solanki about the places discovery feature of OverHere.

OverHere also lets user’s setup reminders to themselves and tie that reminder to a certain location. This features sums up the list of OverHere features.

The location based social app represents a platform with multiple location based functionalities and how users make use of them, depends on user’s creativity.
