How Shannie Ross will be conquering the airwaves this year

Within the first few seconds of Try, you will know that you are in for something very different. As the sound of water droplets fades and the music starts, Shannie Ross starts singing. We heard the new single ‘Try’ from the singer and we are mesmerized. She sounds beautiful and the producer did a great job. The music is the perfect ride and is ridden perfectly by Shannie’s classic sounding voice. That’s what separates Shannie from most of the pop divas we have these days. Too many of them are what they are today not because they are amazing singers but simply because their image sells. There are some notable exceptions, like Adele, who is both hugely famous and highly talented too.

That’s where Shannie shines and that is why we are confident that she will be big. Her image is fantastic (especially the new look she has; check it out on her Twitter!), her music is great, but it is backed by her pure vocal talents. Shannie is the real deal and you only need to listen to a snippet of her songs to see the truth in that. Shannie has been a fixture of Houston’s music scene for many years now. She’s very young but she has been singing since she was a kid, so she has a lot of singing experience and discipline and it’s clearly noticeable in Try.

Shannie’s roots are much more closely matched to divas of the yesteryear, when divas needed to have an almost inhuman vocal range. Singers who were famous back then needed to be serious about their work. Without social media or even cable television pop divas had to sell people purely through their music and they did it. The only difference is that Shannie is on social media.

The single is the first commercial single that is being professionally released by Shannie. She has some other songs as well which you should definitely check out if you want to hear more of her voice. What has changed in this song? Everything. The previous songs are great but they are kind of similar to songs that have already been made. Try is different because it is a new type of sound, one which hasn’t really been heard with vocals as good as Shannie’s. The other factor is that Shannie has grown up and found her voice.

She was just a young girl who loved to sing when the first few songs came out. Now she’s an adult who has found her own voice and look. She sings in a much more comfortable way because she is much more interesting now.  You can see the change happen on her Instagram and Twitter as well.
