I have always loved giving interviews for the fact that each interview was an experience that taught me something new. It could be something big or small but when I walked out the door I always left with new knowledge. For instance, it was at my interview with Samsung that I learnt how employees were not satisfied with the chairs in office. Giving a second thought, I realized that they were justified. We spend three-fourths of our lives on an office chair, so any problems with our backs, knees and other parts of our body have the chair to blame. The following are some of the things you need to look at while buying an office chairs .

Why The Chair Should Recline- You can sit upright when having a meal at the dining table but not for all the eight hours that you are at work. An office chair that reclines lets you rest your back and relax while you reply to mails and perform other official tasks. If you get proper support, the chances of injuring your back are slim.

Why Your Feet Should Be Comfortable- Comfortable feet mean comfortable legs. Your office chair should let your feet touch the floor, with your thighs in a straight line, parallel to the floor. This makes the height of the chair very important. A chair with an adjustable height is the best choice as you can adjust the position of your legs with ease.

Finally, Why You Shouldn’t Ignore The Lumbar Support- Because the quality of your work depends on this factor in a large way. An office chair with a good lumbar support lets you keep your back straight and be comfortable while you are at your desk, letting you focus more on work. And, a good posture will mean proper oxygen and blood flow, making it easier to work well.

A Few Other Things You Need To Consider

The Length Of The Seat- The length of the seat should be such that you are not forced to sacrifice the backrest or have your knees coming out of the seat. It is also better if you get a seat that can slide forward and backward with ease.

The Armrest- Your hands are going to be on the keyboard for the entire time that you are working, but it would be better if your elbows got some comfort and rest at the same time. The armrest is another thing that you have to check when you buy your office chair.

Mobility- Your office chair has to have wheels and has to swivel well. Anything less is not good enough. This is not so you can wheel your way to your boss when you are needed but so that getting that file from the shelf or other such things are easier where you don’t have to strain yourself.
