Occupational Health & Safety Workplace Inspections (Toronto, Ontario)

that’s something practical more than anything, as there’s no better way to
enforce a safe working environment than by educating your staff to uphold the
correct policies. SafetyON’s health and safety consultants can help your
organization set up a Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC). In addition
we can also train the JHSC on how to carry out correct inspections and follow
up on them in an effective manner. In fact the JHSC is required under the
Occupational Health and Safety Act to conduct exactly those such inspections
thoroughly once a month, with an entire workplace inspection taking place
annually in conjunction with the others.
A detailed inspection report will be
submitted to your organization for your review and to take required corrective
actions where necessary. In addition,
these reports and records can be utilized by the JHSC to review information and
identify trends with regards to the effectiveness of the organization’s health
and safety program. Health and safety consultants in Ontario have been striving
to promote effective groups across the province that can identify the targeted
hot-spot areas of unsafe activity, and then see that it’s effectively
addressed.
The reports will contain vital statistical
analysis and data including but not limited to the following:
-Your businesses’ current and/or future health and safety training needs
-Any requirements for deeper analysis of
detected areas/equipment/policies/etc. of concern
-Documentation regarding injuries sustained
in specific areas of the workplace, and their causes
-Outstanding safety concerns for particular
work functions or sites and how to address them
-Taking corrective action towards priority
issues.
The JHSC will be required to address the above
mentioned itemized concerns and prioritize the actionable items at their
discretion so they are resolved as efficiently and effectively as possible.
