Observing Bar Etiquette: Things You Shouldn't Do at a Bar

by Kevin Smith Author

Bars can be the perfect place for you to unwind and relieve stress, but you need to watch your behavior while you’re blowing off steam to keep yourself out of trouble. Here are some things that you shouldn't do while you're at a local corner bar in Duluth, GA.

Disrespect Your Bartender

Disrespecting anyone, especially your bartender, should be at the top of your list of things that you shouldn't do. If you want to have a good night, then you should know how to treat them right. Remember that bartenders are the ones concocting your drinks. Being rude to them isn’t going to earn you any extra fingers.

Cause a Fight

Causing a fight may put you in a lot of trouble. If someone gets on your nerves, remember just to keep your cool. Fighting back may lead to property damage. If this happens, the bar owner may file a case against you or ban you from going back.

Be a Bad Tipper

Being stingy can be one of your worst mistakes if you're at a bar. Most bartenders earn extra from tips, and at some establishments, they work exclusively for tips. Giving them a little extra shows that you enjoy their service. So if you're going to your local bar, make sure that you can also afford to tip your bartender.

Surpass Your Limits

If you can't handle your liquor, then going to a bar isn't a wise choice. You can't expect your bartender or other customers to look out for you if you drink too much. Chances are you're just wasting their time and putting yourself in an unpleasant situation. You should be responsible and know your limits when you're alone or with friends.

Get Handsy

Keep your hands to yourself. Sometimes, when drinking, people tend to forget about the personal space of others. Keep a firm grip on your boundaries and the boundaries of others. Don’t overstep.

Visit your local corner bar in Duluth, GA and make the most out of your night. Remember, though, to always observe proper bar etiquette while you’re enjoying your time with your friends or even by yourself. And above all else, at the end of your night, you should 100% avoid driving after you’ve been drinking. Always plan ahead! Drink responsibly!
