In the world of rest, finding business case for competitive differentiation is continuous. This is not necessarily bad, it can evolve in different technologies and that benefits us all. But sometimes it goes too far and can jeopardize the health of the sleepers.

Be aware of each of these technologies is not easy. When he gets massive publicity mattress with "wonderful" properties it is good to investigate to what extent they are.

This is the case. Perhaps you've heard or you've been offered magnetic mattresses arguing its therapeutic properties. Are they true?

To answer this question we refer to a report by the  Swiss Federal Office of Public Health.

This report shows how magnetic mattresses are used in medicine for the treatment of diseases and in the private sector for relaxing with a general improvement alleged sleeper.

It states that magnetic fields generated by these mattresses are powerful, even to exceed the limits recommended internationally. Therefore can produce health risks with prolonged use. Moreover, it also states that there is no scientific evidence of their usefulness for health.

Finally they indicate some rules to follow for users of this type of mattresses:

•           Do not use them for rest
  
•           Avoid use with children and pregnant women
  
•           Do not use a pacemaker or other electronic medical implant
  
•           Follow the instructions regarding the position of lying and follow instructions for placement of the mattress
  
•           There is no scientific evidence of their effectiveness
  

It is a very strong report with a comprehensive development. However we must be rigorous and that means asserting that the report is done analyzing mattresses marketed, there may be differences with hotel mattresses sold in other countries. In any case it seems necessary to have a very accurate and certified information whether to use one of these mattresses.
