Niti Ayog, the government foundation has lately come up with the idea to increase the validity of e-Visa India to the extent of 10 years. It also urges to increase the number of annual visits for those who held in India on the e-Medical visa.

The proposal by Niti Ayog has been put forward with the objective of dragging more tourists in India.  As of India, foreign nationals on e-Visa India can stay for only 60 days from the date of arrival in India. It is even as less as 30 days in the case of conference visa. However, with e-Tourist visa and e-Business visa tourist can enter two times a year and with e-Business visa, they can have the 3-time entry in India.  e-Visa India can be applied 3 times a year by the foreign nationals

In the latest interview with Niti Ayog, the subject has been brought in the light that visitors find the process of applying for India visa quite not suitable even after the introduction of e-Visa.

So, increasing the awareness of e-Visa India by launching an information campaign via our consulate is necessary. And e-Visa validity needs to be increased to 10 years for attracting repeat visitors.

In the case of medical visa, annuals visits are most common so there must be an augmentation in the number of annuals visits in such case. As per the current scheme, only three visits in a year under e-medical visa India are allowed. So it is quite cumbersome for the other person to follow-up the patient after the treatment. Adding to the proposal, it is suggested that no of persons accompanying the patient must also be increased.
