Nintendo Accused Of Leaking Users Personal Information To Facebook

A recent accusation stated on Nintendo suggests that the brand has been selling out the vital data of their users to other social networking sites like Facebook. One such Nintendo online services subscriber unveiled that the Nintendo Switch was enlisted in a list of brands that shared their information to advertising agencies.

A post on Reddit with a username Valerokai revealed a screenshot from the Facebook accounts Ad Preferences page. Manly this page is dedicated to information associated with the advertisements that might interest the user as per their preferences.

Users can access “Who Uploaded your information and preferences” option, which helps in ensuring the name of the person who provided your personal information for advertisement.

 As per Valerokai, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo UK stores are behind this unwanted advertising and Nintendo has leaked her personal information like email ID, phone number, address to Facebook for advertisement purposes.

 Many other Reddit users claimed this to be the marketing strategy used by Nintendo to promote their products and content to those users who spend money in the shop or are paid subscribers as they are more likely to spend money on their products.

Many believe that Nintendo Switch managed to be the best selling console for 2018 because of these marketing policies that the brand has been following since the past.
