Nine7One – All Day Dining Restaurant in Dubai

Luxury is all pervasive in Dubai — the towering malls, hotels, restaurants, offices and souks! So, when we checked in at the The Oberoi, Dubai, there were absolute no surprises in terms of what to expect: luxury! One of the very best 5 star hotels in Dubai, you are assured of great ambience and world class facilities in the rooms, plus a spectacular view of the Burj Khalifa. It was on a Thursday that we checked in, but it was Friday that we were looking forward to eagerly, for what else, but the brunch at the Nine7One, the restaurant. For the uninitiated, Nine7One is the country code of the UAE.

 

Gastronomical extravaganza

 

Finally, our wait for Friday ended as we trooped into the restaurant around 12.30 all set for the culinary extravaganza. So we had cinnamon rolls, fruit tarts, but there were also live cooking counters, and Spanish tapas, Indian food and a molecular gastronomy counter to explore. That’s the stuff that a dream-like tapas brunch is made of! Then, there is the concept of mojito menus where you can make up your own concoctions.  The brunch is an institution all by itself in Dubai, and everyone feasts on a Friday, so a long leisurely brunch is very much the in thing to do when in the city. Well, kudos to the chef and staff who made the dining experience a memorable one.

 

One can go on and on about the endless options, but a special mention has to be made about molecular gastronomy! We were in awe of food that tasted and looked so incredible; anyone would have been on seeing a spherical mango or a raspberry drop! Special mention must be made of Chef Dirk Haltenhof, who is the hotel’s Executive Chef, and an award-winning globally popular name at that!

 

A great dining experience also means a wonderful ambience and Nine7One was wonderful on that count. There is a courtyard with a water element and you can enjoy the brunch in that calm, serene atmosphere.

 

Shopping and spa

 

Once we were done with our elaborate brunch, we had a snooze and then set out to the Dubai Mall, which is one of the world’s biggest shopping centres. The hotel gave us a complimentary shuttle service and off we went to check out watches, jewellery, and gifts for family back home. Staying at one of the best spa hotels in Dubai, it was inevitable that we had to get a nice rejuvenating massage. So, I got my tired feet pampered with a 60-minute massage and before long, I felt all the fatigue of the last few months before the holiday go away.

 

And then, it was time for dinner, and Nine7One beckoned yet again. Dinner was an a la-carte affair. Japanese rice with mushrooms or grilled meat cuts? The choices are varied – there is food from nine countries, covering Asian, Arabian and Western cuisines. I ended my meal with a sorbet, feeling pampered and well taken care of.
