Nicholas Hagger’s Collected Verse Plays have revived verse drama three and a half centuries after the form declined c.1640. The book includes The Warlords, a panoramic two-part drama on the fortunes of General Montgomery after D-Day and his conflict with Eisenhower;                              Verse Plays                                                            The Tragedy of Prince Tudor, about a Prince’s attempt to preserve the culture and identity of his disintegrating kingdom; Ovid Banished, which is about Augustus’s banishment of Ovid; and The Rise of Oliver Cromwell, which explores Cromwell’s rise to dictatorship. All these verse plays are on the theme of government, indeed world government, and have a universal appeal.

All these poetic works by Nicholas Hagger are available from www.nicholashagger.co.uk or Amazon.
