The Apple iPad have led the current tablet market based on popularity, but if you're looking for hardware variety, Android is King. It's been just two short years since the iPad hit the scene, and the current tablet market was born. Since then, we've seen scores of manufacturers trying to snag a slice of the tablet pie, which so far,  Android tablets are dropping faster than developers can pump out quality software for devices. Indeed, few truly great, Android-tablet-specific apps exist at this point. But that doesn't mean you and your shiny new gadget should go "app-less." Not all of the following 11 Google Android apps were developed specifically for tablets, but they're all tablet compatible-and they're all guaranteed to boost the overall value and usefulness of your slate.

Google's Android mobile OS is considered one of the best alternatives to Apple's iOS when it comes to smartphones and tablet computers. Unlike Apple's closed system of hardware and software, the open-source nature of Google's Android OS makes it inviting for many hardware manufacturers to try their hand at making an Android-based device. That said, it's a system that has been slow to bear fruit when it comes to viable competitors to the Apple iPad.

The following four tablets represent the highest-quality Android-based tablets currently available.

4. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

Samsung has done well to pack a fast, fun, and useful package into such a slimline case. The screen is good, but could be of a higher resolution, and the back cover is a little slippy for our liking. Overall, though, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7in has much to offer and is a great budget choice.

3.Gpad G10 Android Tablet

The Gpad Android Tablet G10 is the second device that I have recently received for review from PandaWill.com.  Last month I reviewed their X10 MID Windows CE Tablet.  Both devices have a 7” resistive touch display but entirely different operating systems.  In my opinion, the Gpad G10 is a much better device for virtually the same money.  It provides a better experience and because of the Android Marketplace, a much greater range of applications.  It’s not an iPad, but it does have several features that the iPad does not—more on that later.

2.Asus Transformer Pad 300

The Transformer Pad 300 offers an attractive package for a reasonable price. £399 will get you 32GB of storage and the keyboard dock thrown in too. The excellent selection of ports, decent screen, Dual Core Tablet PC,competent performance and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich round-off a solid effort from Asus.

1.Google Nexus 7 (8GB)

With a beautiful screen, fast performance, a comfortable design, and overall great media options, the Nexus 7 is easily the best 7-inch tablet available and one of the top tablets on the market. It's an unbelievably well-equipped device for such an affordable price. The silky smooth performance and high resolution IPS screen are the highlights for us. If you're looking for a tablet under £200 then look no further than the Nexus 7.

But for larger screen tablets, ideally, you want 7 inch google android tablet. The good news is that most Honeycomb tablets will be upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich. Google's mobile OS, Android, is a more complicated story. Besides having your choice of hardware from several manufacturers, there are a few iterations of Android floating around on tablets right now. The latest version, Android 4.0 , which merges the phone OS with the tablet OS into a single operating system for all Android devices, but we've only seen it on a couple of tablets so far.
