New Huawei P40 renders dual-power selfie camera in 2020

by Alicia Brown Application Developer

It is that time of the year again when there is so much rambling and anticipation about new smartphones that are waiting in the wings to be released soon. We have talked about Samsung S20, Motorola Razr, Pixel’s 4a and a couple of new phones. Now, there is good news for Huawei customers! We have the most awaited Huawei P40 and P40 Pro this year. These two have surely kept us on our toes since mid-December 2019 when the famous 91mobiles unveiled initial clues of the flagship features.

The rumors are getting into full swing since the arrival of the Huawei P40 is not excessively far away. Back in December, we got a dubious disclosure of some basic features as in what the new device may look like. Huawei company made its utmost efforts to keep devices hidden before the official show off. But, we have a glorified revelation of P40 camera configuration, thanks to tipsters and industry sources.

Without further ado, let’s just get started.

Huawei P40 & P40 Pro: When will they see the light of the day?

Huawei P40 & P40 Pro are going to be the flagship successors of the P30 lineup. As confirmed by the company, both of these smartphones are slated to launch at an official event in Paris in March 2020.

Huawei P40 & P40 Pro: Camera Specifications

  • 3 rear cameras on P40

  • 2 powered-up selfie cameras on P40

  • Quad rear cameras on P40 Pro

  • Supports Kirin 990 chip

There have been many rumors coming out about the camera configuration of these handsets. We have, albeit, trusted Huawei's popular tipster @RODENT950. It states that the P40 would have 3 cameras whereas P40 Pro will have a quad rear camera arrangement.

We're seeing the P40 from most edges in a spilled render today, giving us a smart thought of what's in store from the phone.

Huawei's standard P40 will have an array of a Leica-based triple camera exhibit rear cameras are a 40MP Cine (ultrawide) camera with a 1/1.5" sensor size, a 52MP principle camera with a 1/1.3" sensor size, and a 8MP telephoto camera with maximum 5x digital zoom. It is also expected to have a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) camera.

In the render below, we can also see a cutout at the front, and not a notch. There are two front facing selfie cameras. So, we can see that the selfie cameras have beefed up in P40. What about P40 Pro?

Just like the P30 and Mate 30 series, which do not support Google’s apps and services, these two are also most likely to launch with Huawei’s own Kirin 990 CPU chipset that has built-in 5G support. Sad news for loyal buyers though.

Cut to the chase

So, we have the foggiest idea about full specs of P40 or the P40 Pro at the moment. Huawei is relied upon to uncover these phones in March, and we're speculating to see more leaks in between before the final launch date. Till then, if you decide to switch from your old device to the new Huawei P40, don’t stress out to carry all your valuable stuff along with you.
