ATLANTA – According to statistics, nearly 1 in 4 female students are sexually assaulted while matriculating on U.S. college and university campuses. With high profile rapes occurring recently at Stanford University, Spelman College, Baylor University, and Columbia University among others, the upcoming film, Chi Nu Legacy, will shed light on the issue and create a dialogue that will stimulate change.

Expected End Entertainment recently released to the C. Nathaniel Brown written and directed film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IiUJsG72uYQ

“Campus sexual assault is a serious issue that needs to be addressed,” said Brown, a Baltimore native. “We wanted to create a film that would speak to a number of issues around the topic and open dialogue in a non-threatening atmosphere. We believe Chi Nu Legacy will be a catalyst for change.”

The movie is set on a fictitious college campus and follows the story of Candy, a freshman student who is pledging Chi Nu Sorority. After she accuses the school’s star athlete (played by Curtis L. Wyatt III) of sexually assaulting her, Candy (played by Leah Monet Johnson) struggles with her next moves, setting off a chain of events that shakes the campus, friendships, relationships and jeopardizes futures. The talented cast also features veteran actors Dorien Wilson, who is best known for playing Professor Oglevee on The Parkers, and comedienne Cocoa Brown, who starred in Tyler Perry’s For Better or For Worse.

Expected End Entertainment is partnering with local and national organizations to screen the film on campuses across the country and will host panel discussions on the topic. “We believe this film will bring awareness to the epidemic of campus sexual assault, help victims in their healing process, and help end rape culture on campuses,” Brown said.

Chi Nu Legacy is scheduled for release this winter.
