5. Eden Hazard(89)

A whole host of players - including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Arjen Robben and Neymar - are likely to have an 89 rating in FIFA 16 but I think Hazard will be the pick of the bunch.

The Chelsea winger - rated 88 in FIFA 15 - was by far the Premier Leagues best player last year and I fully expect that his form will be rewarded with an increase in rating.

Fast, skilful, mesmerising on the ball, Hazard is the star of fans dreams and the ghost of defenders nightmares.

Zlatan and Neymar might be more deadly in front of goal but, if you want a man to put chances on a plate for your strikers, then Chelseas number 10 is your man.

4. Manuel Neuer(90)

Strong between the sticks, comfortable on the ball, and brave at the feet of attackers, Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper in the world.

Despite his advancing age, the Bayern Munich stopper is streets ahead of his nearest rivals - namely Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea - and will once again be the highest rated keeper in the game.

3. Luis Suarez(90)

The snappy Uruguayan - famous for several biting incidents - takes third place this year.

Rated 89 in FIFA 15, the ex-Liverpool man - with 26 goals and 23 assists in 46 appearances - did enough in his first season with Barcelona to warrant a bit of an upgrade.

Feisty, unselfish, capable with both feet, on his day Suarez is absolutely unplayable. He will never quite reach the dizzying heights of the top 2 players on this list, but good gosh hes good.

2. Cristiano Ronaldo(93)

Its not often a player as good as Cristiano Ronaldo comes along. Like Pele and Maradona before him, when it comes to goal-scoring this man is a machine.

Unfortunately, due to the existence of a certain little Argentinian, Ronaldo - for all his brilliance - will once again only be the second highest rated player in the game.

That said, if used correctly, he can be more effective than FIFAs number 1. The 30-year-old is strong, tall and powerful; in certain instances - such as going shoulder-to-shoulder with a defender or trying to win a header - that makes him the games best.

However, there can be only one king.

1. Lionel Messi(94)

Probably the best player the world has ever seen. Lionel Messi laughs in the face of Ronaldo when it comes to the most crucial aspect of soccer; teamwork.

Messi plays for the team first and himself second, he doesnt just score goals he creates them. He sees himself as just another cog in the Barcelona clockwork - okay so hes a pretty massive cog - but still, Messi is the peoples footballer, the classy footballer.

Of course that doesnt mean hes not a goal-getter. The Argentine scored 60 goals in 60 games last season; a feat made even more absurd by the fact he had 175 less shots than his nearest rival Ronaldo.
