Need To Prevent Your Teen From Texting And Driving? Here's How…
Teens today can't do anything without their phones. If they aren't texting friends, they are taking selfies and uploading them, or updating their status on the social media. Most teenagers don't have the “it won't happen to me” attitude, and this is why they ignore the laws, and still text and drive anyway. In their minds, whatever message is coming through their phone can't wait. Because you cannot always trust your teen to ignore the phone and drive, it is important to do something to force them to ignore it. Luckily, there are ways that your teen cannot answer the phone when they are driving.

Live2TXT by Android
If your teen has an Android phone, this app will answer the text for them, so they can focus on driving. As soon as a text comes through, the app will intercept the message before the phone sounds the text alert, and send a personalized back to the sender letting them know that your teen is busy. This app will keep your teen from hearing the alert and checking their phone, and it will let their friends know that they will message them back after they have reached their destination.
DriveMode by AT&T
This is a free app created by AT&T, and can be used on all Android and Blackberry phones. Most teens think that if they don't check their phones every few minutes, that they will be missing out on something. This app knows when the vehicle is in motion. When it senses that the driver is going over 25 miles per hour, all incoming texts, phone calls, and emails will automatically be responded to by the app to let the caller/sender know that your teen is driving. Your teen will not even hear the alert when the call is coming in.
DriveOff by Android
This app can prevent them from looking at their phone when they are driving because the app knows when your teen is driving. When the app senses that the vehicle is going over 10 miles an hour, a static screensaver would be displayed. This screensaver would disable all of the notifications to their phone. The phone would not go back to normal until the vehicle slows down below 25 miles per hour. This will prevent your teen from being tempted to look at their phone.
DriveScribe
This is an app that lets you know everything that your teen is doing when they are behind the wheel. When the car is in motion, all phone calls and text messages are blocked when the vehicle is moving. If your teen is driving too fast, the app will tell them to slow down. You can get reports from the app that will tell you when your child went over the speed limit, ran a stop sign, or made any other traffic violation. This will give you a sense of security when your teen is out driving because you will know what they are doing.
TextBuster
Unfortunately, you cannot always be sure that your teen will use the text prevention apps that they put on their phone. This app is different. It is a password password protected app, so your teen cannot turn off the app whenever they want. You would need to purchase a hardware device that goes in the vehice. The app would notify you when the teen enters the vehicle, and it will disable text messaging, emails, and internet access when your teen is in the car. It will not disable telephone access or GPS map service.
Unfortunately for you as the parent, most teens will get a moving violation at one point or another. When this happens, your auto insurance premium will go up. Luckily, your teen can attend online traffic school. These courses will help you earn a discount on your insurance following a traffic violation. In some cases, the violation can be dismissed after your teen completes the course. Your teen can also take an online traffic school course if they have had no moving violations. The course would help lower the insurance premium a bit, giving you a break on the cost.
It is not just teens who get moving violations. When adults find themselves with a hefty ticket for a moving violation, they can also take advantage of online traffic school. For them, it can get them out of paying the fine and can lower their insurance premium. If you have a high premium due to previous moving violations or accidents, online traffic school can help.
