Natural Skin Care

by Abhinav G. Movie Enthusiast

Have you tried to use expensive skin care products and seen no results? You probably just cannot afford skin products that cost hundreds of dollars. Natural skin care is a great alterative. After all, most costly products are derived from natural ingredients such as fruits, oils and herbs. You can also avoid skin irritations due to preservatives, emulsifiers and other chemicals.

Why Dump Chemical-Treated Products?

Did you know that skin is more like a sponge than a barrier? Instead of blocking whatever you apply, the skin absorbs it. So if you apply lots of chemical-treated products to your skin every day, you should not be surprised if it is not as healthy as you want it to be. A better way to take care of skin is to reduce the use of chemical-based creams or cleansers. Go natural and your skin should glow and be smoother like you have always wanted.

What Is Natural Skin Care?

Natural or organic skin care can be the use of natural products or creating your own products at home. Organic skin care is using natural products where you are certain that the production of ingredients does not involve chemicals including fertilizers.

Natural Ingredients for Skin Care

There are many things that you can use to clean and improve your skin. For example, soy is known to have properties that prevent pigmentation. It can be found in many products from L’Oreal and Neutrogena. White and green tea is also a popular ingredient in many skin care products. White tea is unfermented tea that can help prevent damages caused by the sun. Green tea also has the same benefits and is rich with antioxidants that are important to fight damages to the skin caused by free radicals.

If you want a home-made facial mask, you can try avocado. Cut an avocado into two. Get a half and mash it. Mix it with half tablespoon of honey. Avocado provides anti-oxidants while honey has antibacterial properties. Mix it well before applying to your face. Wear it for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse it thoroughly and don’t forget to use a clean towel to pat it dry. Other options are papaya and carrot. To exfoliate, you can use two spoons of sugar. Combine it with milk if you want, this makes a great natural facial scrub. After you dry your face, you can feel the smoothness of it.

It’s Not Just About What You Put on Your Face

In addition, natural skin care is not just about what you apply on your skin. Don’t focus on skin care products alone. If you want to improve your skin, make sure that you work out and have a healthy diet. Exercise can improve blood flow. Sweating in general helps prevent clogging of pores. It helps reduce acne outbreak. A healthy diet is also important so be sure to include lots of proteins and fiber in your diet and drink lots of water. Avoid greasy foods as much as you can if you don’t want an oily face.
