National Youth Day: Pledge to Make Our Children Responsible Youth
Since 1985, India celebrates
the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day. He is
remembered as one of the most prolific thinkers and a great example of a responsible
youth.

Undoubtedly, we all long to
see an impression of leaders like him in our children too. We want them to
flourish in the spring of their life and do something outstanding. We leave no
stone unturned to provide them the chances of doing what they're capable of doing. But we seldom think beyond the circle
of our families. We often fail to make a difference to the lives of those who
are from economically weaker sections.
An NGO for Children in Bangalore, Akshaya Patra has been
selflessly taking care of these children since 16 years. So let’s mark the upcoming
January 12 with a change of thought and donate for education in India.
Let not money be the
cause of undiscovered talents
Everybody has an equal right
to get educated, get their talents recognized and lead a better life. Letting
the lack of money be the hindrance to children’s growth is the worst thing on
our part who don't do anything about it. This is where NGO’s role in India
proves that faith in humanity and kindness should not and would not end. We
must support the vision of organisations like Akshaya Patra that
says ‘No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger’ by donating for education in
India.
Children can change
the face of our country in future
Children can be very
determined about following their dreams. Provided all the opportunities, they
can perform extremely well in their fields of interest. Thus they have a
potential to project themselves as a bright future of our country if supported
and guided well. We all dream of a better, safer, and developed country but
what do we really contribute to this dream? Think for yourself. We know that
children are the future of our country and we need to realize that if each one
of us sponsors just one of the needy children, we can have so many stories of
hope changed to reality.
Give up the formula
of someone-else-might-help
This is the greatest threat to those in need and a major setback to the evolution of responsible youth. If all of us believed that someone else would come forward, logically there would be no one actually offering help. Fortunately, Akshaya Patra, the child NGO from Bangalore believes in taking the initiative and has been serving the cause for 16 years. This NGO’s role in India has set a benchmark and is a great inspiration to the whole world.
Needless to say, contributing toward the making of responsible youth and helping the needfulis not an option but our moral obligation. So let’s pledge to do it now and forever.
