Mumbai Rains Return Bringing Some Respite; Waterlogging In Parts Of City

resume in Mumbai,
bringing a respite from the heat and humidity. According to reports, Mumbai and
its neighbouring cities have witnessed moderate rains during midnight; however,
it's still being continued in some areas.
Owing to this, water logging in parts of Mumbai due to heavy
rainfall in the city. Visuals from King Circle has been doing rounds on social

Taking it to Twitter, on Wednesday, August 3, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast
rains for next two or three days in the city. On the other hand, the
weather department had earlier predicted proper rains again from
August 5 with strengthening of low level westerlies over west coast.
"Mumbai has been experiencing very hot, humid weather
for the past few days. With no rain and high humidity levels, the discomfort
index (DI) is very high and it is becoming unbearable. Mumbaikars are waiting
for rain. Chance of rain in next 2-3 days in Mumbai. So take care of health and
keep yourself hydrated," tweeted KS Hosalikar, IMD head scientist Pune.
As per the weather department, while overall scattered
rainfall activity was noticed all over Mumbai since morning, it is expected to
stay for one more at least and won't be very heavy. If reports are to be
believed, rains were more in Andheri, Bandra East, Worli, Parel, Byculla,
Chembur. Whereas it rained mod-heavily in Mira Road, 13 mm in last hour.
Meanwhile, it is pertinent to note that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) declared July as
the wettest month across the nation after 2005, as the rainfall recorded during
the month was 16.9 per cent higher than normal.
