1. Federal Skilled Worker Program - Eligibility Requirements 

Firstly to be eligible for this program you need to first meet the minimum requirements:

a)Skilled Work Experience 

You have worked in one of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories:

  • TEER 0

  • TEER 1

  • TEER 2

  • TEER 3

You must show that you have performed all your duties in your primary professional occupation. These are as mentioned in the lead statement of the NOC occupational description. 

Skilled experience should:

  • Have the same kind of occupation having the exact NOC as the job to be put in your immigration application. 

  • Have been acquired within the previous 10 years in overseas or Canada 

  • Paid work in the form of wages or earned commission

  • Be 1 year of consistent work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week)

b) Proficiency in Language 

You should undertake approved language tests for English or French language. For English CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program or IELTS: International English Language Testing System. 

For French TEF Canada: Test d’évaluation de français, and TCF Canada: Test de connaissance du français, You need to score a minimum of 6 to 8 across all bands of reading, writing, listening, and speaking

In terms of Canadian Language Benchmarks a minimum of CLB 7 and for French NCLC7. 

. c) Educational Qualifications

If you have studied in Canada then a certificate, diploma, or degree from a secondary(high school) or post-secondary institution in Canada. In the case of overseas education a completed ECA and an educational credential assessment from designated organizations for immigration purposes. 

Once these minimum requirements are met your application will be reviewed on additional selection criteria. You can then check eligibility for Canada PR visa.

  • Having a valid job offer from a Canadian employer

  • English or French language expertise

  • Adaptability (how well you are suited to settle in Canada)

You need a minimum of 67 points out of 100. Once this happens you are in the Express entry pool where you ranked again based on factors. This ranking is done on the Comprehensive Ranking system.

Your CRS score will then decide whether you get an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence through the Express Entry selection system. Now you know how to apply for Canada PR visa. 

 Every express entry draw determines the score based on their labor needs. Sometimes the score cutoff is higher than expected and sometimes it dips very low. So there are high chances for permanent residence. 

2. Federal Skilled Trades Program

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in skilled trades within 5 years. This is right before you are applying. 

  • Job Requirements of the skilled trades should be met as mentioned in the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

  • All duties performed as put in the lead statement

  • Have with them a valid job offer of full-time employment

  • Qualification certificate in your skilled trade issued by the provincial, territorial, or federal authority of Canada. 

  • There is no education requirement for this category of Express entry. 

  • Proof of funds to show you have sufficient funds to take care of yourself and your family

  • Admissible in Canada

Canada Experience Class 

  • Have 1 year of skilled work experience in 3 years prior to applying 

  • Get your experience by working in Canada with authorization to work under Temporary Resident status.

  • Performed all the important and main duties in the lead statement of the NOC

  • Worked in 1 or more NOC training, education, experience, and responsibilities (TEER) categories like TEER 0, TEER 1, TEER 2 and TEER 3.

  • No education requirement is there for CEC. You can improve your language scores though. 

  • Language test results by approved test providers are valid for 2 years
