More NGOs in India coming up with development strategies

by Jenny Jonson Writer

In the year of1945, non-governmental organization was first defined during the creation of United Nations.  Consisting of various kinds of orientations within itself, these organisations were defined on the kind of activities they ocued on such as the Charitable Orientation organizations that directly acted towards the needs of the poor, organizations with a participatory orientation in which the organizations indulged in numerous projects which directly involved the local public on implementation etc. Participatory organizations took the help of people in terms of cash, kind, volunteering hours etc. Apart from the orientation defining organizations, these are also defined on the type of level on which they work such as the City-wide organizations, state-wide, country wise etc. In India, there are many societies that are also defined as organizations and are classified as Co-Operative societies, multi-operative societies, trade unions etc. Apart from this NGOs in India, there are many others as well. For e.g.: NPO i.e. the Non Profit Organizations, Voluntary organizations i.e. VO etc.

Working in many fields, mainly in the fields of illiteracy, basic amenities, employment etc. these organizations strive to provide a greater quality of life with all the resources that they possess and devote their time to helping out the less fortunate. These organizations take the problems of the nearby community head on. Behaving like a corporate company, the organizations are highly professionalized and very efficient in the kind of work they do. Although most of their working volume are comprised of non-paid volunteers, the higher management positions of the organization are paid to help the organizations with their services. Irrespective of being small or large, the non-profit organizations require some serious funding in order to operate to help their fellow citizens. These fund are quite huge in number as they help in handling a lot of operations of the organization. These fund are raised via fund raisers, charity events, membership drives, sale of merchandises, grants as well as private donations.

Businesses and industrial houses in general have a great impact on society at large. Being such important structures and playing greater roles in the defining of a country, there is a certain amount of expectation from these houses to indulge in philanthropic efforts and to act towards the benefit of the society they are based in. Helping and working along with the governmental and other not for profit organizations in their strive to making their country a better place, these companies have a sound way of dealing with things and are very structurally and systematically organized in the way their money is being spent on activities, so that the best outcomes can be generated from such CSR foundations in India. This puts an extremely professional point to the whole scenario of philanthropic and charity missions to benefit the country we all are living in.
