Montville Holiday House celebrates 10 years as Sunshine Coast Hinterland Accommodation

Montville Holiday House is celebrating their 10th Anniversary, which commemorates 10 rewarding years in business. This is a huge milestone for the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Accommodation, which has provided short term holiday rental for families looking for pet friendly accommodation as well as many guests attending weddings in the Sunshine Coast hinterland since 2008.

Montville Holiday House got it's start in 2008 when founders Nicola & Andrew Hungerford discovered the old port masters cottage after almost 6 months of scouring local real estate listings. "We fell in love with the Montville - Maleny area whilst holidaying there with our family, we then set about finding the perfect property to turn our dream of owning a holiday home into reality"

One of the earliest challenges Montville Holiday House faced was that the house was quite run down when purchased. It is a delightful "Old Queenslander" style house located on top of Balmoral Ridge (one of the highest points along the Blackall Range Scenic Drive).

Interestingly, it wasn't until after Nicola & Andrew had purchased the house that they found out from neighbors that it was originally the old port masters cottage from Caloundra. Apparently, the area of land at the current address used to be a dairy farm and the original owner purchased the old port masters cottage as a gift for his wife. He then relocated the house from Caloundra to it's new home adjacent to Balmoral Park midway between Maleny and Montville on the Sunshine Coast.

While every business of course faces challenges, some, like Montville Holiday House are fortunate to enjoy real successes with excellent reviews and occupancy levels.

Montville Holiday House's owners, Nicola & Andrew Hungerford say "We're delighted to be celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary. It's been difficult at times however we believe the secret to being successful in such a competitive market is being able to really listen to our guests. We do our best to provide our guests with virtually everything they could ever need whilst staying at the house... the views are spectacular, the house is full of character and it's a brilliant place to unplug and relax".

Moving forward, Montville Holiday House is continually upgrading and restoring the house to it's former glory. "It's already a lovely place to stay and we're now in a position where we can add those extra special touches toward becoming a 5 star location. Our goal is to become one of the leading wedding accommodation venues on the Sunshine Coast" says Nicola.
