MODELING AUDITION

If the decision to enter into this profession is a spur of the moment, then you may find that it is hard to be prepared for the rigors of such an experience. However, if this is a career that you have chosen, you will surely want to excel in it so that you can move up in your modeling career. It is important to have a clear picture of what goes on in a modeling audition to know what to expect before attending.

A modeling audition may have many components to it. Then there may be reading from a script and a Q&A portion where you will answer any questions that were posed to you. Sometimes a modeling audition will have a panel of judges who will select the best performers.

DURING THESE MODELING AUDITIONS, IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN EYE CONTACT WITH EVERYONE THAT IS WATCHING YOU.

You should make eye contact with the person sitting or standing in front of you and then turn your head slightly to the side. This is a simple gesture that can be very effective in projecting confidence. Most people that attend modeling auditions will be looking for someone who is comfortable and has the ability to present a good all-around personality. This is why keeping quiet will not be helpful; instead, keeping an open and friendly smile will be more helpful.

Your clothing should be appropriate and stylish, but simple and clean. You may have to wear a uniform if possible, but make sure that you are not wearing something that is too loud or vulgar. This will only show that you do not take care of yourself and that you are careless about what you are wearing. It is also important that you choose a simple bra and top that fit properly. You may not have to wear a sweater and jeans.

WHEN ATTENDING MODELING AUDITIONS, YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE EXCELLENT BODY LANGUAGE.

You will need to look confident and relaxed as this will show that you are presentable and prepared for the modeling audition. If you have no idea what to say in your audition, make sure you memorize everything you need to say.

When in the judging room, you will have to make sure that you carry yourself with grace and dignity. You will want to look your best, and this is especially important if the judges are looking for younger models. You will want to look at the part and portray the image that you are trying to portray.
