The much-awaited 5G connectivity is becoming a reality. The surety of 5G reaching the public is not too far away. It is safe to say that the global importance of networking and its application in digitization has made it. The use of the internet has become a basic human necessity. It is visibly, so when we look at the rising innovations of all sectors in any industry.

The shift might have been rocky at the start, but now, it's more about the competition. Who has better technology and innovations, which reflects on the profits and widespread usage of the said competitions' goods and services?

Competition Elements

Keeping in mind about competitions, the rate of development it has bought along with it is not of an ignorable increase. Global competitions set aside; the unity and common interest in research and development has increased five-folds and has grown more conscious and strong. Information is a powerful tool, and people have seemingly understood that. To obtain this said information, ways of communication have evolved in both aspects of quality and quantity. The requirement for the information has increased with it.

Global trillion dollar companies like Apple & Samsung have been releasing phones one after another atleast once a year. From iPads, iPhones to iWatches everything seems to be using data these days. Apple hasntca caught up with 5g technology yet but that doesnt mean it wont catch up. Its just a matter of time when Apple will release the newest iteration of its famous iPhone with 5g capability.

When customers went out to purchase the iphone x in 2017 they were excited to see the full screen iPhone (albeit with a notch) when other manufacturers like Samsung were already making full screen bezel less displays for almost 2 years. In 2020 however, Apple customers were a bit disappointed to see the iPhone 11 had no 5g and instead Apple bragged its 3 camera design to lure camera enthusiasts over internet speed freaks. Traditionally Apple has been slow to adopt to new tech in order to maximize profits from its existing customer base with minor upgrades but the time is ripe for Apple to take the leap of faith into 5G technology

Demand and Supply

The demand for high-end technology has reached a new level now. People see the potential and the necessity of it for the growth and expansion of their establishments. Thus, they create fierce competition and comparison of companies, providing dependable and the required rate of a range of internet.

Mobile Data:

Mobile data is Internet information that is transmitted over a wireless cellular connection to mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. For a range of rates, mobile data plans offer varying amounts of data transmitted per month.

In essence, Wi-Fi and mobile data work the same, together to enable you to access the internet anytime, anywhere. The advantage with mobile data is that while Wi-Fi only works within a router's range, you can access the internet anywhere within a network signal's range with your data plan.

Cost of Mobile Data:

Mobile data is not always inexpensive for smartphone users who like heavy streaming. In reality, a gigabyte of mobile data costs varies greatly from country to country. Zimbabwe is the most expensive data country with a gigabyte price of $75.20, while India has been called the cheapest country for a gigabyte of data with an average cost of $0.26, followed closely by Kyrgyzstan in $0.27.

Value of Mobile Data

Mobile Data has value if two factors get the address to an appropriate level, the number of gigabytes for a reasonable price, and the speed of the internet. This is a means to increase the number of users and the profits made by companies. South Korea, for example, has been a trailblazer in outstanding wireless connectivity and fast lightning internet for years now. Still, the cost of a gigabyte of mobile data is quite high at about $15.

For the past two years, the consumers of the Indian market have been getting so much over the market. They unofficially crowned kings of the market, and since then, not so silent battles between major companies of the Indian market have been playing games of tug-of-war. The price war was set off by Reliance Jio, which pulled other top companies, like Airtel and Vodaphone. Jio's offer was so fatal that a long-standing, non-budging company Airtel was made to decrease their prices.

Mobile Data in Australia

Telstra is winning the frequency fight of the mobile network. Optus is the most viable 4G provider in Australia. Telstra covers 1,600 Australian towns and communities, but Optus covers 98.5% of the Australian population. Vodafone not to be left behind covers over 22 million of the entire population. If you find yourself in Australia, these are the three companies your phone will ever connect. And all three companies are set to provide 5G data shortly.

Although their data plans promise 99% of data coverage, the data does not cover the Australian landmass. It refers to the population of the country.

Data Rates Comparison in Australia

·         Optus tends to be cheaper than Telstra, but anywhere else, Telstra provides incentives.

·         Telstra's postpaid plan starts from $34.17 and goes up to $68.34 and whereas the pre-paid plan starts at $20.50 and goes up to $27.34.

·         Optus's postpaid (12-month SIM-only plan) plan begins at $468 and over to $948 and over, rates changing according to the desired data plan. Their prepaid plan starts at $30 and goes up to $40.

Mobile Data in the United States

Keeping in mind the sheer population of the United States of America, it is right to conclude the number of companies providing Mobile Data will be naturally larger. The country's top providers include Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and AT&T.

Sprint was originally at the top of its game a few years ago with its coverage and number of users. But now, Verizon Wireless has taken the seat.

Data Rates Comparison in America

·         Verizon Wireless is America's largest and most popular cell phone carrier. Offering one of the fastest 4G mobile connections, with an approximate speed of 11Mbps download. But it is a bit of a downer for people on a budget as its price range is $60 to $70. (And has a non-refundable clause)

·         T-Mobiles SIM used to be the last place among the nation's top four mobile carriers. As time passed, it rose to the charts and became the underdog. It is currently a preferred carrier for providing great service for a reasonable investment.

Their prepaid plan consists of unlimited text, talk, and data without compromising the speed. The only area, Verizon Wireless has it beat is in its area coverage. T-Mobile's coverage does not reach far into the rural area, giving the users from those areas poor connection.

T-Moblies' prepaid is $50 per month, and their best plans are $30.

Price Hike

The data plan which starting pack for 300MB cost about $45 (AT&T) and $95 for 4GB (AT&T) back in 2014 for the United States users. Whereas in the Austrian Market, Telstra's average price for their prepaid recharge was $22.55, and that alone gave an increase in their market share, from 37.3% to 40.3%.

Conclusion

Five years later, in the respective markets of the mentioned countries, there are remarkable changes brought forth by the country's economy, demand, supply, growth, research, and development. We can see that the United States' data provider's top place was completely replaced along with its price. In Australia, the place for the number one data provider was not overthrown. But the changes in data plans and their prices are evident
