Mitsubishi wing God car with mileage of about 4000km. The car park for about one hour each time, need several times to start the engine, sometimes can not start, but after a period of time can start properly.

The car is equipped WCM system, think the problem is this system, focus check WCM system. Use Mitsubishi MUT3 into ETACS system, check found fault code U0168, means KOS / WCM CAN pause (timeout), after analysis, if can not receive the signal from WCM or the wrong key, the combination instrument will possible to set the fault code. View the data stream when KEY-ST block reserved, the data stream 287 starter switch is turned on, means ETACS-ECU can receive the start signal from the ignition switch, and start relay has not been pulled, focused on theft mode is active, then re-register the ignition key, registration success rate is very low (need repeated registration), but after successfully failure remains.
This time the customer provides an important message, the car had been modified folding key, when dismantling the transponder of the key fell to the ground. So suspect that the ignition key have fault. The car when bought because the ignition key converted into folding, the technician dismantling accidentally fell the transponder of the key to the ground, leading WCM intermittent can not receive ID code of ignition key, so WCM can not control the engine ECU, the car intermittent can not be started. Then use a new ignition key to re-register the key, the engine can be started normally, use Mitsubishi MUT3 LITE diagnosis no fault, test the car, everything is normal.
