Miss Onalaska Pageant launches style show event

Fashion buffs can experience the glamour of the runway at the first Miss Onalaska Style Show fundraiser. Money raised through the event will go toward the Miss Onalaska Organization’s scholarship fund.
Spearheaded by Miss Onalaska Organization Director Miranda Schmidt, the style show will display the latest in casual, formal and lounge wear offered by area retailers and modeled by Miss Onalaska and Miss Onalaska Outstanding Teen pageant winners and contestants along with other area title-holders.
Emily Mihalovic, a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, was chosen as the 2015 Miss Onalaska, and the Miss Onalaska Outstanding Teen for 2015 is Annie Skogen, a sophomore at Onalaska High School.
“Miss Oshkosh has something like this and I learned about it from that organization,” said Schmidt, who went to college at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. “I brought it to the board, and they loved the idea. In the past, the scholarship fund has been developed through (pageant) ticket sales. This year, we’ve been able to grow the scholarship fund.”
Both female and male models will show off apparel from participating vendors. Those vendors include The Wedding Tree, Dale’s Clothing for Women, Dale’s Clothing for Men, Mainstream Boutique-Onalaska, Christopher & Banks and Francesca’s.
The style show will be held Friday, Dec. 11, at The Court Above Main, 420 Main St. in downtown La Crosse. A silent auction also will be held as part of the event.
The evening will begin with a cash bar cocktail hour starting at 5:30 p.m. Dinner of chicken roulade with side dishes, catered by Mary Cody’s Catering, will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the style show beginning at 7:30 p.m.Read more at:yellow prom dresses uk
