Migrate to Canada through the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program – Express Entry Stream
by Visa Consultant Immigration ExpertAlberta,
specifically the city of Calgary, is one of the most popular Canadian
immigration destinations. The province has lower cost of living and higher
salaries in comparison to most other provinces and territories, mild weather
conditions, accessible healthcare and education systems, and a healthy
environment. Foreign skilled workers can pursue the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program Express
Entry Stream in order to be nominated for permanent residence to the federal
government.
Eligibility Criteria
Under this
stream, candidates who can contribute to Alberta’s economic growth or have a
strong connection to the province or have graduated from Canadian
post-secondary academic institutions are selected from the federal Express
Entry pool.
The
applicant should:
·
Have
a valid Express Entry profile submitted under one of the three federal streams.
·
Plan
and have the ability to live and work in the province.
·
Practice
an occupation that features on the Alberta occupation in-demand list. Licensed consultants can
provide information on which occupations are considered eligible.
·
Score
at least 300 points based on the selection criteria of the Comprehensive
Ranking System.
Eligibility
will be enhanced if the applicant has a job offer from an Alberta employer, has
work experience in Alberta, is a graduate from a post-secondary institution in
Canada, or has a parent/child/brother/sister living in Alberta.
Application Process
The
application procedure is jointly administered by the provincial government and
the federal Canada immigration
authority – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Step 1: Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the
Express Entry System, and indicate an interest in permanently moving to
Alberta.
Step 2: The Alberta government will search the EOI
pool and send Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to eligible candidates, inviting
them to apply for provincial nomination.
Step 3: Within two weeks of receiving the NOI,
candidates must e-mail a copy of the NOI to the provincial authorities, which
will confirm the information and request the candidate to submit an application
and supporting documents. The candidate must mail this application package within
30 days of receiving the request.
Step 4: If the application is approved, the applicant
will receive a nomination certificate. The nomination should be accepted within
30 days, following which IRCC will issue an invitation to apply for permanent residence
(PR). The application must be submitted within 60 days of receiving the
invitation. If approved, IRCC will grant the PR visa.
