Michigan International Festival Announces Greenhills Schools Participation

February 27th, 2018, Ann Arbor, Michigan: The Michigan International Music Festival by Rotary is unique event that showcase unity in diversity. It has become one of the premier events that highlights the leaders in the community who embrace and celebrate diversity.

It’s youth chair Riya Katial, a sophomore, has taken an active role in getting the youth involved. “I am pleased to announce that my alma mater, Greenhills School, has decided to participate in the Festival this year. The youth today stand for multi-cultural, peaceful, and an egalitarian society. I am very excited to see that even the middle school students have stepped up to embrace, showcase and celebrate these values,” she said.

David McDowell, The Head of School at Greenhills said, “We are delighted that our students will be participating in the Michigan International Festival sponsored by Rotary. The themes of globalism and diversity align with the school's mission of fostering curious, creative, and responsible citizens."

“This adds to the growing number of schools and organizations that have decided to participate in this event. In its fifth year, it has had students from Troy, Saline, Dexter, Southfield, Farmington, Ypsilanti and Novi,” adds Bryon Harvey, President of Rotary Club of Ann Arbor West. The event has been growing every year, with diverse performances, food from various parts of the world and a silent auction. People’s vigor and enthusiasm is visible with the sounds and smells of diversity.

About the Michigan International Festival
The Michigan International Festival is sponsored and organized by Rotary clubs in Michigan. The proceeds go to helping causes that each club champions. It’s host, Rotary Club of Ann Arbor West, is a not for profit, community-based 501 (c) (3) organization that raises money for helping kids with sustenance and education in Michigan, Sri Lanka and India. It’s focus on education has tended to change kids lives dramatically.
