If you are someone tired of using sanitary napkins every month and want to switch to something else which is just as comfortable then menstrual tampons are what you should pick. Once you get the hang of putting them on right, there will be no going back to your regular napkins. Read on to know more.

When we talk about menstruation and its symptoms, we can never forget the toll it takes on our everyday life. Everything during those few days just comes to a standstill and we can barely come out of the bed. However, we still need to get the daily jobs such as going to the office, college or school, doing household chores or going to the market regardless of what we are going through. It is even harder during heavy flow days. All women at some point experience heavy menstrual flow and that is the time they need the best hygiene care. Therefore, the products that we use should be of the best quality to make those few days a little less troublesome.

Talking about menstrual products, the two most common are sanitary pads and menstrual tampons. Between these two, sanitary pads are the most reached out as opposed to the tampons for a number of reasons and one of them is the usage. However, women who have tried tampons and used them with the correct method, have experienced the benefits of using them and therefore have made them a part of their menstrual hygiene. All it needs is that you keep trying to wear them using the right technique and once you get the hang of it, there will be no going back to sanitary napkins.

You might come across a number of myths surrounding tampons but none of them are

true. Even though they are completely different from the women's sanitary napkins in terms of usage, they will get as comfortable as them and also will give you the best protection from leakage or staining. But, before you start using them, you need to keep in mind that you should never use them while you are wearing a sanitary to pad to be safe. You are not supposed to use multiple methods simultaneously which can cause more harm to you than any good.

If you are using a tampon for the first time, what you can do is to wear it when you know you will be staying home while you menstruate. To wear it,

Put one of your feet on top of a stool or simply squat.

Take the tampon and insert it carefully into the vagina, leaving the string outside.

You can also use the easy-to-use applicator to insert it.

To remove, simply pull the string and the tampon will come off.

The market has introduced so many different variants of tampons to try out today that it can get a little confusing to get your hands on one particular variant. Therefore, when you shop for tampons, you should be looking for these qualities in them -

Long Lasting Absorbency

Long lasting absorbency is something we should look for in not only tampons but the sanitary pads online as well. The best tampons in the market come with a finger sized absorbent core which has the capacity to soak up eight hours of menstrual flow. But it is always recommended that you keep changing into fresh ones every three to four hours or even less depending on your menstrual flow to stay fresh and clear of germs.

Freedom from Stuffiness or Discomfort

The tampon that you pick should be able to give you freedom from any discomfort or stuffiness down there even when it is on for a few hours. It should not get soggy too soon and should make you feel light for at least three to four hours.

Easy to use Applicator

An easy-to-use applicator is really helpful for women who are still learning to wear a tampon correctly. These applicators are very hygienic, help in gliding the tampon easily inside the vagina, place them gently and also leave the string out.

Once you get your hands on a good quality tampon, it will feel as comfortable as an ultra-thin sanitary napkin.
