by Joya Smith Kindle support

The cybersecurity company McAfee revealed last Friday that it is going to buy the Nanosec, an application security software manufacturers. The financial details did not get disclosed. Nanosec uses the container approach for making app security. McAfee has declared about its intentions on using this feature to boost the MVISION cloud and the server protection products. They will be using the security capacities of Nanosec and apply them to the apps. It will also get applied to the deployed workloads in Cabernets environment and containers. It will help in providing the customers the app segmentation for quickly detecting threats and avoiding it.

Extension for MVISION cloud

Nanosec technology is a suitable extension for the MVISION cloud. It will enhance the current CWPP and CASB products. It will also contribute the Shift-left capabilities for delivering better security and governance. Since the split in 2017 from Intel, Mcafee has worked overbuilding its platform and has emphasized the use of cloud services. Acquisitions have proved to be a vital part of this strategy. The company made its first acquisition of Sky-high networks for enhancing its business cloud unit. The cybersecurity giant then further purchased Tunnel Bear, the creators of the public virtual private network facility.

Return to market and fundraise

This purchase took place in March 2018; Mcafee had started to eye the hardened network for strengthening the customer-focused safe connects products. Intel purchased Mcafee in the year 2011 then it was rebranded as Intel security in the year 2014. The following year the company adjusted the strategy for focusing on endpoint and cloud as control points for protection. The focus also revolved for providing action-based threat intelligence, orchestration, and analytics. Lately, reports have circulated that McAfee is planning a return to the market after contacting banks. Another story has claimed that a specific IPO could generate $1 billion for the firm, and that would value Mcafee at more than 5$ billion.
