Maruti Suzuki Commercial Expands Operations -Dzire, Alto, Ertiga Get Exclusive ‘Cab’ Treatment

by Maruti Suzuki Best Cars in India
Maruti Suzuki Commercial, launched some 4 years back, took the Indian market in its confidence much like its passenger vehicles subsidiary. Initially offering the Super Carry mini pick-up truck and the country’s best-selling van, Eeco, Maruti Suzuki Commercial grew quickly and currently has a network of more than 320 dealerships in over 235 cities across India.

The Tour Line-Up
Expanding the commercial network further, Maruti Suzuki has introduced passenger-focused fleet cars into the commercial portfolio, aimed at cab aggregators and taxi drivers, to further strengthen its network. The new Tour range includes five models, namely the Tour H1 (Hatchback), Tour H2 (Hatchback), Tour S (Sedan), Tour V (Van) and Tour M (MPV).

Practical Features
The Tour models are supposed to be the stripped-down versions of their respective standard models, in a bid to price the Tour models competitively in the market and increase volume sales. They will come with basic features inside and out to offer a safe and comfortable ride, at a low cost of ownership, but will skip out on some of the more visual and luxury-focused aspects. Safety features such as a speed limiting function, ABS, reverse parking sensors, and driver side airbags will be standard across the line-up.

All the Tour cars will get a BS6 compliant petrol engine at the heart for a powerful performance and will offer improved fuel efficiencies. Tour H2, Tour S and Tour M will also get the option of S-CNG to further enhance their mileage, offering a green and clean ride.

Maruti Suzuki prices Tour S, Tour M, Tour V, Tour H1 and Tour H2 cars quite aggressively to attract new cab buyers, aggregators, and fleet operators for the best investment in their ‘entrepreneurial’ venture. The company claims that the Tour cars offer the best value for their price and that they will help drivers increase their profit margins.

Maruti Suzuki has ensured that the Tour line-up covers all the segments used as taxis to provide a full, un-interrupted service.

Tour S (Dzire)
The most common and heavily populated taxi segment, the compact sedan, has been taken care of by the Dzire. Code named Tour S by the company, it provides a comfortable ride with dual-tone interiors, fabric door trims, and sink-in seats. The ride quality is smooth and pleasurable, the cabin is roomy and feels airy and the car offers an improved luggage carrying capacity. The Maruti Suzuki Tour S price starts at 5.76 lakhs*.

Tour M (Ertiga)
The Ertiga has been placed in the ultra-spacious MPV segment to offer maximum space and comfort to all passengers. The huge and flexible luggage space attracts major attention from tourists and passengers carrying multiple luggage bags, in need of a comfortable ride. Also, it offers great legroom and back support, in addition to high passenger capacity, which makes it ideal for long journeys and road trips. Prices start at 8.07 lakhs*.

Tour H1 & H2 (Alto & Celerio)
The Alto and the Celerio cover the hatchback segment and make for excellent cabs to be used while navigating everyday city traffic and office commutes. For individual passengers, these make the most sense both in terms of practicality and costs. The small size and high efficiency result in cheaper rides all the way, without compromising on safety or comfort. Prices start at 3.56 lakhs*.
