Sexual assault is without doubt, traumatic. Reports suggest that these incidents are not as uncommon as one might think, often by perpetrators that we instinctively trust.

People interact with teachers, religious leaders, doctors, and dentists on a regular basis from childhood. Unfortunately, there are times that that trust is exploited. Individuals struggle to cope with the violation as well as the loss of trust.

Be it police or politicians, one expects those in powerful positions to be our protectors. Putting our lives in their hands, we believe that they will not misuse their authority.
