HVAC is an acronym of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Maintaining the right temperature in our home and workplace plays a critical role in improving well-being and increase general work performance. With a quality HVAC unit in the workplace, the productivity level of workers will definitely improve. On the contrary, a low quality HVAC unit can possible affect workers performance. For this reason, opting for a good air conditioning unit in a building is essential, as it offers high class performance.

HVAC equipment maintenance tips

Maintaining your HVAC equipment regularly not only improves performance, but it also increases its lifespan thus preventing it from wearing out in no time at all. However, every equipment is susceptible to breakdown but it can be avoided with regular maintenance. One of the equipment that requires regular maintenance is your air conditioning unit. This will help maintain proper temperature and improve air quality in the building where it’s being used.

One of the most important maintenance tips is cleaning or replacing the filters at least twice in a month. Filters always accumulate a lot of debris and dirt which are trapped and prevented from entering into air conditioning unit. If dirt build up for longer period of time without being cleaned, it breeds organisms such as dust mites which are considered harmful to human health. The accumulated dirt and debris will also prevent fresh air from penetrating into your air-conditioning unit, thus making it function improperly. Clean the filter on a regular basis using a dry piece of cloth but make sure the HVAC unit has been disconnected from electrical supply. If on the other hand, you discover that the filters are too dirty to be cleaned, then it is highly recommended to have it changed completely. This should be done by a professional to prevent causing any further damage to the equipment

Also, make sure the contractor is cleaned regularly to rid it of the insects and other organisms that hides inside the unit. These intruding organisms hiding in the equipment interrupt the flow of current. In order to keep these insects away from you HVAC system, use insecticides around the area where your unit is installed. This is very important since you can’t keep watch over the unit all day long or cover the equipment in a bid to prevent these insects from having access to the contractor.

Getting the most from your HVAC system

Is your HVAC system making you spend more or is it not functioning properly? Assessing the HVAC to ascertain how much longer it will last is one of the most important thing to do. If you have an old HVAC, it could possible increase electric bills and cost you more. However, the lifespan of an HVAC has a significant impact on its level of productivity and energy consumption. Replacing an old air conditioning unit in your home or work place could save you tons of money and improve air quality. However, opting for a properly sized system that can cover an extensive footage area is indispensable for increased efficiency and comfort.
