Look Out For Gonorrhea Signs Manifesting
Most people are unaware about the signs and symptoms of Gonorrhea because it often doesn't show. It is very important to know the signs of Gonorrhea to see if you really have the disease. Gonorrhea is possibly one of the most common types of sexually transmitted diseases; it is caused by the bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhea. This bacterium grows and multiplies effortlessly in warm and humid areas in the human reproductive tract. The overall rate of cases of gonorrhea is escalating; it is the second most frequently reported sexually transmitted disease in the United States. Roughly 700,000 new cases of gonorrheal infections arise yearly and only about half of these are reported. More than 5% of people between 18 and 35 have gonorrheal infection which they are not conscious of. Infection of gonorrhea is more common in specific groups wherein the following groups have the highest reported infection rates: adolescents and younger adults, poor people from the urban areas and southern states, African Americans and drug users. Gonorrhea is transmitted from person to person via anal, vaginal, and oral contacts. The males have a 20% chance of acquiring the symptoms of gonorrhea gonorrhea when having sex with a woman who has a gonorrhea infection, whereas females have 50% chance of acquiring the said infection by having sexual relations with a man who is infected. Pregnant women can transfer the gonorrhea bacteria to their unborn children during normal delivery. The incubation period of the bacteria is 10 to 20 days after initial contact and the symptoms occur in between the 15th and 20th day post infection. Roughly 30% to 60% of the infected individuals will not present any symptoms of the disease throughout their entire lives. Women with Gonorrhea may complain about pain during urination, projectile urination, vaginal discharge, off-cycle vaginal bleeding or bleeding after sexual intercourse as the main symptoms of the disease. The cervix may seem normal or with cervical inflammations together with pus. A lot of cases reveal an increase in the production of the male hormone. Tests that results with both cervicitis and urethritis also confirm a Gonorrhea infection since both of these areas are almost always affected in all patients with Gonorrhea. Symptoms and signs of the disease which are less advanced include the progression of the inflammation of the pelvic that is a grave medical condition which may result to infertility. Other symptoms may include fever, cramps or pain, vaginal bleeding in between the menstrual cycles and vomiting. Women with Gonorrhea may show signs of irritation and infection of cervix and of vagina, having vaginal discharges which are thick and yellow green in color, frequent urination and having a burning sensation around the area of the genitals. For men, signs of gonorrhea include pain during urination and gleet and a great amount of thick pus discharge. Succeeding infection for men may also include symptoms of scrotal swelling or pain, and infection or inflammation of the prostate and of the testicular duct. Adults who are infected with Gonorrhea display signs of blurry visions from one eye.
