London Private Clinic: TKR Surgery For Stability, Flexibility & Fast Recovery

by PRC Agency PR

If you need new eyeglasses, you wouldn't just pick a generic pair off the shelf, right?

You'd want a pair custom-designed to suit your needs, such as the shape of your face, and of course, your prescription. Well, the same applies to your knees - if you need a total knee replacement (TKR), why not get one custom-fit to how you move? It's easy, learn how it works from the experts at MSK Doctors, just visit https://mskdoctors.com/treatments/twis-tkr

A New Type Of Knee.

If you’ve been paying attention to medical science at all, then you probably already know that we’re moving into a new era, where your solutions are actually tailor-fit to your needs.

None of this one-size-fits-no-one stuff.

What does that mean though, and how can you benefit from it?

Well, that depends on if you’re looking for a new knee - at least for today’s topic.

A new type of knee replacement surgery, called TWIS-TKR (Turn With Intelligent Stability - Total Knee Replacement), is all the rage - and for some pretty good reasons. This innovative procedure has serious advantages over traditional knee replacements, including improved stability and range of motion.

So How Does It Work?

In short, it uses a customised surgical approach that takes into account each patient’s unique anatomy, using AI-powered surgical planning techniques that have only recently become available. This allows for a more precise fit and alignment of the implant, which can lead to a more natural feel and improved function.

Specialists can use MAI (Motion Artificial Intelligence) to analyze the movements and kinematics of your body, allowing them to tailor the installation to your personal movements. In clinical trials, this has resulted in a faster return to normal activities after the surgery and improved Patient Reported Outcomes (PROMs).

That’s not the best metric for scientific studies, but it’s my personal favourite for finding out what people really think - so it’s definitely a good sign.

Surveying patients who have completed the TWIS-TKR surgery, it was found they reported less pain and discomfort after their operation, as well as a more natural feel and functionality for the new knee. Studies have also suggested that patients who underwent TWIS Total Knee Replacement are less likely to need revision surgeries, due to its increased durability.

That’s a win, win, win, in my book - because getting another surgery is not on my “things to do for fun” list.

Does That Mean It’s A Tough Surgery?

That was my thought too, but it turns out the answer is actually the opposite.

Although the TWIS-TKR technique does include additional planning to maximise the effectiveness and precision of the surgery, these additional steps all happen before your surgery. The surgical procedure itself has been streamlined to reduce complexity and the risk of complications, and most patients can return home soon after their surgery with a customised recovery plan to get them back to their normal daily activities.

Sometimes, adding complexity is a good thing, as long as it’s in the right places.

Here’s a little blurb I stole from the full report that explains things, “TWIS-TKR, or Twisting Knee Replacement, represents a breakthrough in knee arthroplasty, prioritising custom rotational alignment for each patient. This advanced system adapts to the unique anatomy and biomechanics of each individual’s knee, ensuring an implant that functions naturally and efficiently.”

Or to put it another way, this isn’t like the knee replacement options we’ve had before. Your knee will be custom fit to your movements, so you can still dance the night away... if that's what you're into.

If you want to know more, I suggest checking out one of the links I’ve shared - or just asking an expert. If you follow the link you can find the MSK Doctors self-referral program, which means you don’t need a referral from your GP, and there’s never a waiting list.
