Live Streaming Concerts Now Accessible Online From Auditorium In Eureka Springs in 2020, 2021

You want to hear and experience live music in Eureka Springs, but audiences and large gatherings are mostly not happening due to COVID-19 directives. What do you do?

The tourist-traveled town of Eureka Springs Arkansas, along with many other towns, had to curtail or eliminate public gatherings, and this included music events. While COVID-19 directives needed to be followed, there are ways live concerts can continue, and as of recently, this took the form of live streaming live music from the historic Auditorium.

As with many challenges, people find a way, and silver linings often emerge out of what mostly looks like bad news.

After months passed with no live music happening in this iconic venue, it was time for reinvention. By August of 2020, Ron Sumner, tech director for the Eureka Springs Auditorium, began turning his imagination into action.

It would take the help of cameramen, an announcer, and the cooperation of the CAPC and the City of Eureka Springs to have the concept come into realization.

The idea would be to host live music concerts from the historic venue in a way that would allow online access. In this manner, concert gatherings common before the pandemic could be enjoyed by even larger virtual audiences.

You can now access these concerts which are are now happening on a mostly weekly basis– usually on Thursdays, though changes may occur as 2020 moves into 2021. The first concert happened on August 27th with Kurt Hunter, a local singer-songwriter.

These and future " Live at the Aud" concerts can be enjoyed live at the time of their performance, or later when it's more convenient to the viewer.

How you can listen and watch– Live at the Auditorium concerts may be accessed at no charge by going to Youtube, and placing the words "live at the aud" in the search bar as one word with no spaces between- "liveattheaud".

By doing so, Eureka Springs tourists, travelers, locals, and music lovers from anywhere can enjoy music concerts and other events being live-streamed and recorded from the historic Auditorium in Eureka Springs Arkansas.

Many of these performers are local and regional talent. Listeners are invited to discover live music from artists that they may never have found otherwise. It's also a way for the town of Eureka Springs to keep bringing live acts to the Auditorium for people to enjoy safely.

When doing the "liveattheaud" search on Youtube, look for others scheduled such as Steve Jones, Los Roscoes, and more to come.

Most of the musicians play either original music or do covers in their own style. Magician performances and other types of shows are also likely to be scheduled.

For the present, music and live performance lovers can know that concerts and shows from the Auditorium are now available.

Thanks to the imagination of a tech director and the cooperation of the city of Eureka Springs, live and recorded performances are reverberating once again through the historic walls of this building, built in 1928.

From the comfort of their own home, hotel, or even a mobile device, travelers and locals are invited to sit back, relax, and experience live shows straight from the Auditorium, like this 2nd concert with original guitar instrumentals by Tim Hillwood, recorded on Sept 3rd, 2020.

Now you can see and hear concerts like these recorded or live. Just follow the directions given. Enjoy!
